Why It Is, in Fact, a Great Idea to Buy or Sell During the Holidays

Contrary to what you might think, the holidays are a great time to buy or sell.

Should you buy or sell during the holiday season?

Absolutely! If you’re a buyer, you should be looking at properties that are on the market, properties that are not yet on the market, and reaching out to your real estate agent. If you don’t have a real estate agent, you need to hire one so they can help you find what you’re looking for.

If you’re a seller, don’t buy into the notion that nobody looks for homes in the winter. We do plenty of business during this time, and we work with serious, qualified buyers. We have a ton of relocation buyers in the Madison area, and they need to find homes no matter what time of year it is.

Don’t buy into the notion that nobody looks for homes in the winter.

Both buyers and sellers enjoy important advantages in the colder months. Buyers face less competition because there aren’t as many people out and about looking at homes, while sellers, as I noted above, get to deal with more qualified buyers walking through their home.

I speak from experience when it comes to this topic. Last year, my family and I sold our house during Thanksgiving and closed two days after Christmas. During that time, we were also able to buy our current home and negotiate much more competitively.

So don’t wait until the spring of 2020 to make your move. Connect with an agent now so you can formulate a plan moving forward. My team and I would love to help you no matter what your goals are, so don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

If you have any other real estate questions, feel free to give me a call or send me an email as well. I look forward to hearing from you.
